Five things not to miss on the Canon stand at IBC 2017

Canon is bringing the latest innovation to its vibrant stand at this year’s International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), one of the world’s biggest media and technology shows, running from 15 to 19 September in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Canon’s stand will feature the latest Canon broadcasting products, including compact cine servo lenses and the EOS C200. Visitors are invited to test their capabilities, capturing the action in two working sets with a gastronomy theme. Experts will be on hand to answer questions about the products on show, and you will also find a post-production studio on the stand, demonstrating new, faster ways of working.

1. Get hands on – try Canon kit
Head to the touch and try area to get to grips with the latest equipment Canon has to offer: more than 40 different lenses, including the CN-E70- 200 mm T4.4 L IS and the CN E18-80mm T4.4 L IS KAS S cine-servo lenses. “We’ve got a very broad range of equipment – as an ecosystem it’s probably one of the biggest,” says Canon project manager Angus Thomson. “We don't want to just throw specs at people, we want them to get hands-on and to have a go.”

2. Watch chefs at work in a full studio set
Come and learn about the Dutch snack bitterballen (deep fried meatballs), which Michelin-starred chef Peter Gast offers at the Amsterdam Foodhallen. Chefs will be cooking on the Canon stand in a replica studio environment, complete with robot cameras, reflecting a modern broadcast operation. The dynamic, realistic setting offers a great opportunity to trial Canon products, so pick up a camera to start capturing the action.

3. Enter the post-production zone

4. Meet the EOS C200

5. See how Canon lenses work on other camera bodies
Canon lenses are in a field of their own – and can often be integrated onto your existing camera bodies. The IBC stand will have a range of ENG cameras available to view and test-drive with a variety of Canon lenses. The CN-E70- 200 mm T4.4 L IS cine lens and the CN E18-80mm T4.4 L IS KAS S are two of Canon’s versatile compact cine servo lenses on the stand, designed to capture the highest quality footage with ease.
